According to UN Habitat, the effects of urbanization and climate change are converging in dangerous ways. Global warming is likely to reach 1.5°C between 2030 and 2052, and approximately 3°C in 2100 based on current national government commitments. This will have disastrous impacts on cities.
These statistics are damning and something has to be done. We are on a path to making change, no matter how small it may look. This is why we encourage schools to inculcate a culture of growing trees and going green. If every urban school can purpose to grow at least 1000 tress every year in and around the school, we can have a major change in terms of addressing climate change in future.
We still continued with our environmental conservation initiative and visited Langa Langa Sec where again we donated and helped plant trees. We thank partners who have joined and are offering support.
Let’s go green, plant trees
